Q. CAN I FEED MY PUPPY BOTH RAW AND KIBBLE?

Yes, many puppies can eat a diet that contains both raw and kibble, we do recommend reaching out to us for further guidance to ensure balance is still being achieved and calories are being considered.

Q. IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO ADD TO MY PUPPY’S DIET?

Nope! Iron Will Raw’s Puppylicious is complete and balanced on its own.

Q. NOW THAT MY PUPPY IS EATING PUPPYLICIOUS, IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO FEED THEM TASTY EXTRAS?

Of course! While adding fun and nutritious extras isn’t required since Puppylicious is complete & balanced on its own it’s still a great way to add enrichment at your pet’s dinner time. What you do need to keep in mind is the additional calories that all these extras add to your pet’s bowl. It’s typically recommended that your puppy receive no more than 10% of their weekly calories from an unbalanced source (treats/extras). These extras can include but are not limited to Raw Meaty Bones (size appropriate), Quail Eggs, Sardines, or treats. We’ve included an example below:

Q. HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM FEEDING MY PUPPY ENOUGH?

Puppies should have their body condition assessed frequently, weekly is ideal, especially for large/x-large breed puppies as they will be growing quite rapidly. Q. HOW LONG SHOULD I KEEP MY PUPPY ON PUPPYLICIOUS?

We generally recommend keeping your puppy on Puppylicious until they are fully grown and mature. This will ensure your puppy is getting all the nutrients they need to finish growing. This usually equates to 10 to 12 months for small breeds, 12 to 14 months for medium breeds, 16 to 18 months for large breeds and up to 24 months for extra-large breeds. If you have any concerns, please check with your primary veterinarian and they can guide you through this process.

Q. MY PUPPY HAS LOOSE STOOL, WHAT DO I DO?

Our first suggestion will always be to consult your veterinarian for stool testing. Puppies have a habit of putting everything in their mouths, both good and bad. This can often upset their stomachs, ruling out parasites is often the best place to start.

Q. ISN’T IT IMPORTANT TO ROTATE PROTEINS AND ADD WHOLE FOODS?

Rotating proteins and supplementing whole foods is important if you are feeding foods that are not complete and balanced.  Protein rotation and supplementation can help ensure your puppy is getting everything they need for proper growth and development.
